Daren Jasper recently joined vGroup as Head of Leasing, bringing nearly 12 years of industry experience. He shares what attracted him to the business, what leasing partners expect today and where vGroup can add the most value.
After nearly 12 years with his previous employer, Daren was ready for a new challenge and the opportunity to take the next step in his career.
What stood out to him about vGroup was the culture. “From my first conversations, it was clear that ideas are encouraged, people are trusted to take ownership and teams work closely together,” he said. “There is a strong balance between ambition and support, which really appealed to me.”
Since joining, Daren has focused on understanding where leasing partners need the most support and how vGroup can respond. He believes leasing companies are placing greater importance on brand consistency and the customer experience throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
“They want solutions that strengthen their identity, improve driver engagement and add value beyond the delivery of the vehicle,” he explained.
This creates a clear opportunity for vGroup to support leasing partners through a combination of physical products, digital platforms and added-value services.
For Daren, the biggest opportunity lies in developing deeper, more strategic relationships with leasing companies.
“We can add the most value by supporting customers throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle, rather than being seen purely as a product or logistics supplier,” he said. “By bringing together products, platforms and services, we can help improve the driver experience, protect vehicle value and strengthen our customers’ brands.”
Outside work, Daren swaps leasing for playlists. He is also a mobile DJ, performing at weddings, corporate events and milestone celebrations ranging from 18th to 80th birthdays. It may be a different audience, but the focus remains familiar: understanding people, creating the right experience and delivering it well.
