vGroup wins ‘Environmental Award’ at CAT Awards 2023

Conscious Carpet. What is that?
Conscious. Carpet.
How can a carpet be conscious?
Indeed, how?
Well, vGroup International figured it out, and brought a carpet that is recycled and fully recyclable to the UK market for the very first time.
And that earned them this year’s Environmental Award!

That is how the two speakers from CAT (Car Aftermarket Trader) Magazine announced the win for vGroup at their annual CAT Awards on the 9th of February, at the 5-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

It was indeed a sunny day for vGroup as the company was nominated and shortlisted for both the ‘Environmental Award’ and the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award, with both categories filled with automotive giants, and established brands.

First up was the ‘Environmental Award’, a strong category with some impressive competition from companies such as Exol, Ring Automotive and ASPL. However, vGroup took home the prize. The company claimed the win which recognised their ‘Conscious Carpet’ product, which promotes sustainability, circular economy and overall support the business objective of achieving net zero by 2024.

 vGroup’s General Sales Manager, Nicola Eggleton accepted the trophy on stage and talked about her experience;
”It was great to attend the CAT Awards and to have been nominated for two awards! We are extremely proud to have won the Environmental Award for our recyclable mat range, the Conscious Carpet. It feels great to be recognised for our innovative product and we are delighted to share it with our customers, taking another step towards sustainability.  We would also like to congratulate all CAT Awards winners and the nominees from event. Congratulations team on a winning result!”

The event continued and shortly they were listing the nominees for the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award. One of the most hotly contested categories in the CAT Awards and is decided by the magazine’s very own readers by voting. The shortlist included Toyota First, Mahle, First Line, UFI, Bosch, vGroup International and other great competitors. In the end, company-giant Bosch claimed the win and received CAT Magazine’s award.

Overall, the CAT Awards were a great opportunity to meet and network with fellow automotive companies and brands. Well-paced event with good speakers focusing on the physical and mental challenges of the automotive industry. The interview with 4-time BTCC champion, Colin Turkington was very interesting with some funny moments.  Congratulations to the organisers, sponsors, nominees, and other winners who managed to claim a piece of the awards. We will see you all next year.
